Dental Implants
Though people are keeping their teeth longer and longer, part of our population still has to deal with missing teeth. For those denture wearers who've always hoped for something better, dental implants are a wonderful improvement in function. A titanium implant (or usually several implants) is surgically inserted into the jaw. After healing, a new denture can be made that attaches to the implants. It is stable, comfortable, and as close to natural teeth as you can get.
Implants can also be used to replace a single missing tooth or several teeth. Partial denture wearers can give up their removable dental appliances and have comfortable, stable bridgework with the use of implants. A single missing tooth can be replaced with an implant, so that the adjacent teeth do not have to be cut down for bridgework.
